Medical Oncology
The Jordan Hospital medical oncology team evaluates, diagnoses, and treats patients with a wide range of cancers and blood disorders, including solid-tumor cancers such as melanoma, colon, breast and prostate cancer, as well as malignancies of the blood such as leukemia and lymphoma.
Our approach
At Jordan Hospital, you’ll receive highly personalized care that reflects your priorities, concerns, and responsibilities. For many cancers, a combination of treatments (e.g. surgery, followed up by radiation… or chemotherapy with surgery) has been found to be the most effective treatment method. For example, radiation or chemotherapy can be used to shrink a tumor before surgery. This may make it possible to perform minimally invasive procedures rather than more invasive ones, reducing trauma and improving patient outcomes.
Clinical trials and new therapies
Thanks to our clinical affiliation with Tufts Medical Center, the oncologists at Jordan Hospital can introduce their patients to some of the most promising new treatment options being investigated in clinical trials. Our medical oncologists are also active in clinical testing of novel therapies.
